Terms of Service

Last updated: Apr 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Compys website, applications, and services (together, the "Service") operated by Compys AB (org.nr 559527-0710), a Swedish limited company with its registered address at Briljantgatan 50 c, 421 49 Västra Frölunda, Sweden ("Compys," "we," "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Users aged 15 may use the Service only with the express consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for the user's activity on the Service. You must provide accurate and current information, keep your credentials secure, and you are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Accounts are created through Firebase Authentication, using email and password or Google Sign-In.

The Service

Compys is a recruitment platform that matches student and junior talent with startups and other employers. We offer several account types:

  • Student and Professional accounts for individuals looking for opportunities.
  • Company accounts for employers, with a Company Admin role that can manage the company profile, invite co-workers, and post job listings, and a standard Company User role for other members of the company.

Features may change, be added, or be removed over time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.

Accounts and invitations

Sign-up may require a valid invitation code. You may not share, resell, or create accounts using another person's credentials. You must keep your login details confidential. Notify us promptly at jonathan@compys.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, including profile information, work and education history, forum posts, startup posts, job listings, uploaded images, and attachments ("Content"). You grant Compys a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your Content as reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Service, including matching, search, and moderation. You represent that you have the rights to the Content you submit and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by:

  • Violating laws or the rights of others.
  • Creating fake candidate or company profiles, or impersonating another person or organization.
  • Misrepresenting your affiliation with a company or your qualifications, education, or work history.
  • Scraping, spidering, or otherwise harvesting data from the Service in violation of our technical controls or terms, or circumventing rate limits or other security measures.
  • Posting illegal, harassing, discriminatory, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful content in the forum or elsewhere on the Service.
  • Sending unsolicited commercial communications, spam, or malware to other users.
  • Attempting unauthorized access to any account, data, or system, or interfering with the operation of the Service.

We may remove Content or suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

Candidate and company interactions

Compys is a platform that introduces candidates and companies. We are not a party to any employment, internship, contractor, or other relationship between users, and we do not guarantee that any hire, offer, or outcome will result from use of the Service. Some job listings direct applications to external application URLs or to the employer's own contact details; in those cases, the employer's terms and privacy practices apply to the application itself. Compys does not verify the qualifications, background, identity, or conduct of any user, except as part of our ordinary trust and safety moderation.

Paid subscriptions and fees

Some features are offered under paid subscription plans. Compys AB is the merchant of record for these subscriptions. Payments are processed on our behalf by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland, and Stripe, Inc.) through Stripe Checkout and the Stripe Customer Portal.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel a subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal linked from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Prices displayed to consumers include Swedish VAT where applicable, in line with the EU Price Indication Directive and the Swedish Price Information Act (prisinformationslagen). Business customers receive a VAT invoice; EU reverse-charge is applied where the rules require it. Compys AB (org.nr 559527-0710) is VAT-registered in Sweden.

Fees are non-refundable except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. Consumers in Sweden generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Distance Contracts Act (distansavtalslagen); however, if you expressly request that the Service begins immediately and it is fully performed before the withdrawal period ends, your right to withdraw is lost for that performed service, as permitted by law.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In for sign-in, Stripe for payments, and Microsoft Azure for hosting and transactional email. Third-party providers have their own terms and privacy practices, which apply to your use of those underlying services. Links to external websites or application URLs are provided for convenience and are governed by the terms of those sites.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim all implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law. We make no warranties about the quality, accuracy, reliability, or completeness of user profiles, job listings, or other Content, and we are not responsible for hiring decisions, employment relationships, outcomes between users, or communications that take place outside the Service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compys AB and its affiliates, officers, and employees will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid Compys in the twelve months before the claim or 100 EUR. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Swedish or EU law, including liability for gross negligence, intent, or personal injury, or consumer rights under the Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen) and the Consumer Services Act (konsumenttjänstlagen) where they apply.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify Compys AB against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from Content you submit, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, to protect other users or the Service, or if we discontinue a feature or the Service. What happens to your personal data on termination is described in our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Your content (license), Acceptable use, Disclaimer, Limitation of liability, Indemnity, and Governing law — will continue to apply.

Governing law and venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought before the competent Swedish courts, with the Gothenburg District Court (Göteborgs tingsrätt) as the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you a different right. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. For material changes affecting your rights or obligations we will make reasonable efforts to notify you, for example by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.
